This exciting commercial project was at Beyerskloof Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, an award winning wine farm in the Koelenhof area within the Stellenbosch Wine of Origin region. The scope of the project was to create the structure for the restaurant area and wine cellar - Cobute supplied its precast elements for decking, beams and staircase.
In 2019 Cobute and Geoplast have successfully worked with Westbuild Property Cooperation in delivering 4 residential units at a brand new lifestyle development, Sagewood in Parklands Cape Town. The scope of the project consisted in the creation of a thermally insulated structure, with the use of ventilated raft foundations, and the Cobute precast shutters.
For this residential project, designed by Pr.Engineer Alan Hendrie, the Cobute elements were used for two structures, one for the garage and the other one for the main house. While the garage made use of the Cobute decking for its roof slab, the main house presented an interesting design solution. In fact, the integrated systems for beams (83m), slab (192sqm) and edge ribs (22m) were used for the creation of a suspended ground floor on stub columns. The slab span was over 6m.
